* Remove old flooring completely before you begin installation. Repair all holes or cracks on the floor if there are any. You wouldn’t want to end up with improperly tiled floor with these conditions. Clear any trimmings and thoroughly clean the floor before continuing.

* Before laying out any tiles you should first make a plan and take time to make a layout of the tile flooring. This is an important step since if you’ve plan and made a layout of the design, where you would want the tiles to be placed and how far the tiles are from each other. This will keep you from making mistakes in laying the tiles later on therefore saving you time and energy. It is essential that you center the floor tiles in the room. This will make for a more aesthetic result.

* When your layout is complete you can start cutting up the tiles. Cutting also requires plans. Using paper to make a pattern on how you will cut your tile is helpful. The cut can be marked on the paper first and transferred to the tile.

* If you have finished cutting them, you may lay the tiles. Starting in the center, lay your tiles towards the wall. The floor and back of your tile will need to be fixed with adhesive. Divide your work into small sections to avoid having to reapply adhesive. Maintain equal space between your tiles by using spacers.

* When the adhesive is dry, clean the tiles and the area around them. The empty space between tiles must be filled with grout. All excess grout must be wiped away.

Use the correct tools and follow all the instructions and you will find installing tiles to be easy. Saving money you would have spent on a professional is the best part.
